About Tim…
Originally from southern Alberta, veteran soldier Tim Isberg is an accomplished singer-songwriter. From Rwanda to Afghanistan and missions in between, Tim experienced the best and worst humanity has to offer. As a performer, he has entertained audiences in many corners of the world.
Tim brings an Americana style blend of well-crafted Alt-country, Roots and Contemporary Folk songs to the stage along with an appealing vocal timbre and an endearing array of life experiences he shares in a way that makes each listener feel connected. With a genuine sincerity and sense of humour carefully woven through stories and songs, it is Tim’s live show – whether solo or with his full band – where he shines most.
An international tour in spring 2016 followed Tim’s album ‘Tears Along The Road’ was selected by Music Canada in the Top 25 Favourite Albums of 2015. Tim’s 2019 album ‘Running on the Edge’ was nominated as Top 5 Best Albums of the Year by Country Music Alberta. His acclaimed 2024 history-themed album “Prairie Fire” contains captivating story songs based on people and events of the 19th century Canadian prairies and Western plains. All three albums were recorded with Grammy nominee and JUNO celebrated producer-engineer Miles Wilkinson.
Tim is also a published author. Simon & Schuster published the book ‘Everyday Heroes’ which includes a chapter by Tim on one of his many experiences in the line of duty. It is a national best-seller.
Tim’s solid guitar rhythms and ear-catching songs create a style of his own where listeners can escape into the story behind the song. His song “Devil on Your Back” of revenge by the Blackfoot on Montana outlaws along the Whoop-Up Trail was a past finalist in the Best Song of Alberta for the Calgary Folk Music Festival.
Tim has an academic background in environmental sciences, western Canadian history and international studies, skills in training horses, and plays hockey the best way he knows how. His added experience as a public speaker and as a Master of Ceremonies for special events all contribute to a positive audience experience.
