Impressions For 2027
The 2027 edition of Julian's Charity Calendar is now available at The Gallery. It featues a collection of 'impressionistic' photographs. The price of the calendar remains at $20 (includes GST)! As always, all profits from the sale of the calendar will be donated to a charity or equally worthy cause.

“All that we are is story. From the moment we are born to the time we continue on our spirit journey, we are involved in the creation of the story of our time here. It is what we arrive with. It is all we leave behind. We are not the things we accumulate. We are not the things we deem important. We are story. All of us. What comes to matter then is the creation of the best possible story we can while we’re here: you, me, us, together. When we can do that and we take the time to share those stories with each other, we get bigger inside, we see each other, we recognize our kinship - we change the world, one story at a time...”

Front Cover
The front cover image of my 2027 Charity Calendar is a multiple exposure captures on my iPhone in McLennan, AB in the spring of 2025. While on a two week stint supervising dental students in a clinical setting I spent many after hours photographing the region. A very small railway museum houses a small collection of rolling stock and other artifacts. My lifelong fascination with trains always guides me to these locations. Peeling paint on aging equipment provides a rich source of shapes, colours and textures to photograph. This image is a visual interpretation of the peeling paint on the side of a passenger rail car. Some new gold paint endeavoured to hide the aging infrastructure to little avail. Peeling paint is a visible effect of the power of Mother Nature on man's creations. Perhaps a reversal of what we are typically consider to be the relationship of Mother Nature/Human interactions? I invite you to feel the dynamic effect in this multiple exposure image and interpret it as you will.
