From Farther AWAY 2026 – Julian’s Charity Calendar

From Farther Away 2026

The 2026 edition of Julian’s Charity Calendar is now available at The Gallery.  It featues a collection of photographs from distant lands (and waters).  The price of the calendar remains at $20 (includes GST)!  As always, all profits from the sale of the calendar will be donated to a charity or equally worthy cause.

“All that we are is story. From the moment we are born to the time we continue on our spirit journey, we are involved in the creation of the story of our time here. It is what we arrive with. It is all we leave behind. We are not the things we accumulate. We are not the things we deem important. We are story. All of us. What comes to matter then is the creation of the best possible story we can while we’re here: you, me, us, together. When we can do that and we take the time to share those stories with each other, we get bigger inside, we see each other, we recognize our kinship – we change the world, one story at a time…”

Richard Wagamese

The charity calendar has become a tradition for me as a creator, this being my twelth.  It is also a challenge both creatively and logistically.  When it goes to press I breathe a sigh of relief and when I see the printed results I usually feel a sense of pride and accomplishment, and almost always some misgivings about things I think I could have done better.  But most of all, I hope that you, as a purchaser, enjoy the images and find some connection to my creative work.

Each year I get asked to provide information about the images included in calendars.  In the past, I have never really got around to posting this information.  I am going to try and make amends this go around.  Below you will find the locations of each of the images and a brief description if applicable.

Front Cover

The front cover image of my 2026 Charity Calendar captures the essence of a stream meandering through a vibrant oasis in Morocco, inviting viewers into a dreamscape where reality blurs with imagination through the artistry of multiple exposure. In this abstract representation, shimmering waters intertwine with lush greenery, creating a harmonious interplay of light and shadow that evokes a sense of serenity and wonder. The layers tell a story of life’s fluidity, echoing the spirit of connection and the importance of preserving nature’s beauty. This enchanting visual encourages us to reflect on our own narratives as we immerse ourselves in the timeless rhythms of the world around us.
